A Sleep Apnea Treatment Plan Tailored Specifically For You
Led by Dr. Insolera, TMJ & Sleep Center will work with you to find the best sleep apnea treatment plan for you. We’ll work together to provide a prompt and professional diagnosis and a plan that best suits you.
Orthotics
TMJ & Sleep Center helps patients achieve relief from sleep apnea with neuromuscular orthotics meant to change the habitual bite and open the airway. Treatment will consist of a neuromuscular measure requiring two orthotics over time (six to eight months) as the bite and posture change. Optimal bite and posture change can influence airway patency, to be optimized.
Splints
At TMJ Pain & Sleep Center, we approach treatment and the use of splints differently. Splints are only used for two weeks during the treatment process and are worn 24/7 with the exception of eating until an orthotic is delivered. This differs from other offices since our splints are used 24/7 in a dynamic manner. Traditional splints are worn at night and are static since you are sleeping and the jaw does not move. A static splint is usually made for people with teeth grinding problems but cannot cure TMJ. At the TMJ Pain & Sleep Center, our splints are made of a softer material and are only worn for two weeks in preparation for a neuromuscular orthotic.
Building Trust Through Open Communication
We understand that concerns regarding sleep apnea treatments can create anxiety. Our approach emphasizes open communication and transparency, ensuring you are informed and comfortable at every stage of your treatment journey. We take the time to address your questions and tailor our strategies to fit your individual needs, prioritizing your comfort and understanding throughout the process.
